Alyssa Faubion, known as Farmer Faubs, is a passionate educator, innovator, and advocate for creativity in the classroom. As District Community Leader at Knowt, she brings over a decade of experience transforming teaching and learning through cutting-edge technologies. Alyssa has presented at leading conferences, including FETC, AIR Show, and ISTE, showcasing how edtech can spark creativity, collaboration, and critical thinking.

Believing that "Creativity takes courage," Alyssa inspires teachers and students to embrace innovation and discover their unique "Yeehaw Moments" — those transformative moments of excitement and achievement. As co-founder of EduGuardians, she is committed to connecting, inspiring, and empowering the educational community!

Heather Brown

Heather Brown, a dedicated educator since 2009, currently shines as a K-5 math interventionist and STEAM teacher in rural Illinois. With a fervent belief in the power of educational technology and authentic assessments, she skillfully integrates these tools into her teaching to enrich her students' learning experiences. Beyond her classroom, Heather's passion extends to empowering fellow educators by sharing innovative strategies at conferences such as ISTE and FETC, and contributing her talents as a copy editor and book designer for TeacherGoals.

Larisa Black

Larisa is a Technology and Innovation Coordinator with experience as a science teacher, virtual educator, and AI Literacy Coach. She founded Teach Wise AI after recognizing a growing need for meaningful, effective professional learning around the use of AI in education. An EdTech enthusiast, Larisa brings over 17 years of experience teaching both in traditional classrooms and virtual environments. She has been nominated for Teacher of the Year and has received recognition for her innovation and excellence in education.

Christie Cloud

Christie Cloud is a seasoned virtual teacher with twenty-two years of experience in education. Additionally, she is an adjunct professor at Thomas University where she teaches the Integration of Classroom Technology to tomorrow’s teacher candidates. Christie is an enthusiastic supporter of edtech and believes in its potential to enhance student learning experiences.

Aileen Wallace

Aileen Wallace is a Modern Studies teacher at Graeme High School in Falkirk, UK, having graduated from the University of Stirling in 2005. In 2023, she discovered the potential of educational technology, leading to significant achievements such as contributing a case study to 'The AI Classroom' and serving as an ambassador for Curipod and SchoolAI. Aileen is dedicated to promoting thoughtful use of AI in classrooms worldwide as part of the EduGuardians.

Our Story

Greetings, fellow seekers of knowledge and innovation! We, the original five EduGuardians, first crossed paths in the vast digital expanse where educators and edtech champions converge. United by our fervor for education and our active presence on various social media platforms, our alliance was forged through the shared creation of enlightening content and mutual learning.

As we navigated through the digital realms of Curipod, SchoolAI, Diffit, Magic School, and other such gatherings of edtech enthusiasts, our paths intertwined in webinars and virtual groups. It was in these collaborative arenas that our bond started.

Our origin story took a pivotal turn when Christie, one of our own, invoked the powers of Microsoft Designer that could craft a superhero for each of us, encapsulating our individual attributes and educational passions. This act not only highlighted our unique strengths but also unified us under a common banner.

From that moment, the concept of EduGuardians was truly born. Our ranks have swelled, and today we proudly number in the triple digits within this wondrous personal learning network (PLN). Together, we continue to explore the vast frontiers of education, each day growing stronger and sharing our journey with jovial superhero flair.
